Who is Austin Magee?
I was born, raised, worked, went to high school and college all right here in district 5. I’m the proud small business owner of Pittman Industrial, a welding and mechanical company that works all throughout our state. I highly doubt any politician has worked harder or gotten dirtier than me, I beat the sun up every day and a 16 hour shift is absolutely not out of the normal. I believe leadership starts with understanding real work, real responsibility, and real consequences.
I have two fantastic kids, a boy and a girl, 1 and 5, and a wonderful wife I owe the world to for going along with me on this adventure. I’m a volunteer in my community and love my small town. I have a 25 acre paradise, still technically owned by the bank, that I call home. In my free time I love demonstrating Blacksmithing and the art of traditional forging. Hunting and fishing. Reading. Traditional archery. Spending time with my kids and our critters as well as working around my property building things and giving life back to old equipment (especially 70s model case construction equipment).
I try to live my life with the ideal that I would rather be wronged than wrong someone else, and while that hasn’t always put me ahead in life, I can go into a political race with a clean conscience. As a father, nothing scares me more than seeing freedoms and individual liberties eroded away by an overreaching government.
Rather than sit and worry, I am choosing action. I’m a problem solver. I can read, write, and do math. I am convinced most of our politicians cannot do those things. I have never been in politics, never wanted to be in politics and still don’t. James 4:17 tells us plainly it is a sin to know what to do and not do it. I am choosing to be obedient to my creator. So I plan to completely change the life I live in order to serve the people of district 5, and be your voice of reason, logic, and morals in the House of Representatives.
Give me a shot! “I can’t do any worse than the rest of em!”
